|Sunmark FCU is looking to hire a Mortgage Closing Attorney.|
This position is located at our Latham Administrative Offices, 1187 Troy Schenectady Road, Latham/Route 7.
Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8-4:30pm, occasional evening hours as needed.
|The primary responsibility of this position is to conducts real estate closings which includes reviewing purchase contracts, written abstracts of title and surveys, review judgment/lien/bankruptcy searches, surveys, appraisals and other closing documents. Prepares real estate closing legal documents. Works with mortgage staff for the preparation of same. Communicates with members, realtors, buyers, sellers, title companies, appraisers and attorneys to discuss file status and request/provide additional information. Negotiates with opposing counsel, realtors, title companies, appraisers, etc. to achieve final resolution of items. Follows up on post-closing items including recorded documents and post-closing requirements. Markets credit union mortgage and financial services to other credit unions, realtors, and builders to offer mortgage loans to others in our marketplace.|
|Candidates should have a law degree, licensed in NY and have prior real estate closing experience to assure thorough knowledge of NY title laws and other relevant laws, legal codes, legal/court procedures, precedents and government regulations including real estate laws, RESPA, TILA, CFBP and processes documents specific with assigned procedures. Work with minimal supervision, establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, co-workers and court systems.|
