Summary:
Follow detailed and standardized procedures in performing routine accounting clerical operations. Perform a variety of support duties related to the accounting function within the credit union. Assists in providing a wide range of administrative and support services to finance and branch operations that require a broad knowledge of department operations, policies and procedures. Depending upon conditions performs any combination of the duties outlined below.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of activities to assist the department in maintaining the financial, stastical and accounting records of the credit union.
Enter data into accounting systems and generate report on a daily basis. Prepare various financial, regulatory and special reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis as requested by management.
Post some general ledger entries and proof totals with the data processing system.
Prepare accounts payable checks after receiving proper authorization and assist in reconciling credit union settlement accounts.
Processes ACH transactions such as file transmissions, system posting, returns, and mail notices.
Orders checks for member’s accounts and processes various checking account transactions such as the transmission file, processes returns, and mail notices. Monitor and follow up on negative share balances on a daily basis and monitor dormant accounts and pay attention for potential fraud on these accounts.
Researches and resolves member inquiries regarding payroll deduction issues, statements, disputes stops, starts, changes and monetary adjustments.
Responsible for the maintenance of the files for the credit union. Duties include but are not limited to filing, scanning, photocopy, and folder maintenance.
Any other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications: |
Skills and Abilities:
Associates degree and three to five years of progressively responsible experience within a financial institution, or an acceptable combination of education and experience necessary to gain the background knowledge to deal effectively with employee and member relations maters.
