Description:

Overview

Responsible for the credit unionís administrative management of loan, collection and business services functions. Develop and implement consistent organizational policies and procedures that comply with state and federal regulations. Support and lead the consumer, business, mortgage, indirect lending and collection process via centralized lending and the business services program.

Duties and Responsibilities

Set the departmentís strategic plans to align with the credit unionís business plan and establish and ensure the implementation of target goals for the department.

Research and evaluate the feasibility of new lending products and develop plans for implementation. Keep current with changes and trends in the industry and act in a way that maintains competitiveness.

Represent and promote the credit union at community functions and oversee efforts to develop and establish relationships with builders, realtors, auto dealerships and other entities for loan business services.

Plan, direct and organize the activities of the business services function relative to lending and savings products, including sales and business development, and on-going relationship management.

Periodically review loan policies and procedures and recommend updates when appropriate in such areas as loan participations, lending authority, loan concentration, general underwriting guidelines, ALLL adequacy, loan grades, and risk tolerances.

Provide a visible management presence with consumers, prospects, and referral sources through an active calling effort, including joint calls with lending staff, the branch manager, and other credit union business development personnel.

Achieve the business loan and deposit goals by directing the staff in aggressive sales and business development while maintaining prudent credit assessment and administration in concert with the credit unionís credit policy.

Develop, implement and monitor policies and procedures in accordance with credit union goals and strategies and work with other departments to maintain consistency.

Direct the workflow in all lending areas to include underwriting, processing, documentation, approval, denial and collection of consumer, mortgage, business and indirect lending.

Oversee the development and monitoring of performance standards and provide mentoring, coaching or training to support and develop management and staff.

Ensure that loan policies, procedures, services, products and documentation meet NCUA, federal and state regulations.

Be knowledgeable of all regulatory requirements regarding indirect lending and ensure that all agreements comply with state, federal and NCUA rules and regulations.

Qualifications:

Skills, Abilities and Qualities
Bachelorís Degree in Business, Management, Marketing, or related field; and a minimum of five years related work experience in a financial institution with increasing responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with research, analysis, product pricing, project management, and lending and collections is required. A minimum of 2 years managerial/supervisory and business lending experience is required.
